From Seed to Feed Tour

April 2 – 12, 2019
April 29 – May 10, 2019
Tuesday – Friday by appointment

Students will learn all about preparing the land for crops after the winter, with focus on the different crops that are grown in Eastern North Carolina and how they help feed the world. Emphasis will be placed on the plant life cycle from seed to mature plant. Students will participate in our plant-a-seed hands-on activity and will get to take their planted seed home for further observation.

Education Hubb (appr. 1.5 hours) includes:

  • Classroom – age-appropriate lesson
  • Animal Acres
  • Commodity Trail
  • Tractor-pulled Wagon Ride
  • Planting Station
  • Other Interactive Stations

As time allows, students can visit Crops of Fun PlayLand and the Picnic Pavilion

Each student receives a planted seed to take home and an educational activity book to reinforce lessons learned.
